Medical Assistant Certified - USFTGP Neurology

About the role

Under general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines to provide clinical and clerical support. Responsibilities include patient rooming, assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, chart preparation, and obtaining referral notes, images, and lab results prior to patient visits.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or MA-ARMA certification
• Basic Life Support certification
• Minimum of 3 months of experience in a healthcare setting

Skills

• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures
• Skill in drawing blood for laboratory testing and ensuring proper specimen handling
• Competency in using electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information
• Proficient in performing clinical tasks, including patient rooming and ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment
• Ability to prepare for and assist with medical procedures
• Ability to perform clerical duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, filing, faxing, and scanning documents

Schedule

• Full-time, on-site position
• Scheduled days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
• Shift: Day (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Pay

Minimum starting salary: $17.91 per hour
