About the role
Under general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines to provide clinical and clerical support.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
- Draws blood for laboratory testing and ensures proper specimen handling.
- Uses electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information.
- Performs clinical tasks, including patient rooming, and ensures proper cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Prepares for and assists with medical procedures.
- Performs clerical duties such as answering phones professionally, greeting patients, filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Obtains referral notes, images, and lab results prior to patient visits.
- Demonstrates all Medical Assistant KSA's (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant (or MA-ARMA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 3 months of experience in a healthcare setting.
Schedule
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Scheduled days: Monday through Friday.
- Shift hours vary (7 AM – 4 PM, 8 AM – 5 PM, or 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM).
Pay
Minimum starting salary: $17.91 per hour.
