About the role

Under general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines to provide clinical and clerical support such as patient rooming, assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, chart preparation, and obtaining referral notes, images, and lab results prior to patient visits.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
• Draws blood for laboratory testing and ensures proper specimen handling.
• Uses electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information.
• Performs clinical tasks, including patient rooming, and ensures proper cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment.
• Prepares for and assists with medical procedures.
• Performs various clerical duties essential to the operations of the practice, including answering phones professionally, greeting patients, filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
• Demonstrates all Medical Assistant KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant (or MA-ARMA).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Minimum of 3 months of experience in a healthcare setting.

Skills

• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen handling.
• Competency in using electronic health record systems.
• Ability to perform clinical tasks, including patient rooming and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to assist with medical procedures.
• Proficiency in clerical duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, filing, faxing, and scanning.

Pay

Minimum salary: $17.91 per hour.

Schedule

• Full-time, on-site position.
• Scheduled days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
• Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
