Medical Assistant Certified - USFTGP Kennedy Family Care Center

Under general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical support, including patient rooming and assistance with medical procedures
• Clean and maintain medical equipment
• Prepare charts and obtain referral notes, images, and lab results prior to patient visits
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures
• Draw blood for laboratory testing and ensure proper specimen handling
• Use electronic health record systems for accurate documentation and retrieval of patient information
• Perform clinical tasks, including patient rooming and ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of medical equipment
• Prepare for and assist with medical procedures
• Perform various clerical duties essential to the operations of the practice, including answering phones professionally, greeting patients, filing, faxing, and scanning documents
• Demonstrate all Medical Assistant KSA's (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant (or MA-ARMA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 3 months of experience in a healthcare setting

Pay

Minimum salary: $17.91 per hour
