About the Role
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform various services and related activities in support of patient care, including accurate data entry for patient registration and insurance verification. The role requires good judgment, effective communication with patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers, and a professional, caring manner.
Responsibilities
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Assists physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering superior medical care.
- Performs accurate data entry of charges on patient accounts, registers patients, and updates patient accounts.
- Handles insurance verification and records statistics.
- Assists with scheduling patient appointments, answers phones, keeps providers informed of changes, and informs patients of their benefits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
- 1 year of medical office experience (preferred).
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (required).
- BLS certification (required).
Schedule
5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
