About the role

The medical assistant is responsible for the care and treatment of clients in a medical office as directed by a physician. They work under the supervision of the provider, to ensure that quality care is provided to adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Take and record vital signs
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment
  • Manage patient records and scheduling
  • Communicate with patients regarding their health and treatment plans
  • Perform administrative tasks such as billing and insurance verification

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of medical assisting with knowledge of new trends and techniques in medical assisting
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred
  • Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred

Qualifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
