About the role
The Medical Assistant at Virginia Mason Medical Center will support providers by assisting throughout the patient visit continuum, performing vital sign measurements, and various patient care procedures. You will also manage patient flow, handle scheduling tasks, and report test results.Responsibilities
- Assist throughout the patient visit continuum, including pre-visit preparation and rooming.
- Perform vital sign measurements (weight, height, BP, pulse, respirations, temperature).
- Conduct patient care procedures within the scope of an MA, such as injections, EKGs, ear lavage, and blood draw.
- Manage patient flow, inform providers of schedule adjustments, and participate in front office activities.
- Handle scheduling tasks and report test results as directed.
- Contribute to administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling, medical record maintenance, and insurance claim processing.
- Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program required or validation of equivalent military training.
- 6 months of Customer Experience required.
- Active Washington State Medical Assistant – Certified licensure required.
- May hold Interim MA-C with a probationary period to obtain permanent MA-C licensure within 6 months of hire or before the expiration of the Interim certification.
- BLS-RQI required.
Preferred
- Knowledge of insurance concepts preferred.
- One year Medical Assistant – Certified experience preferred.
Qualifications
- High School diplomas or GED required.

- 6 months of Customer Experience required.
- Active Washington State Medical Assistant – Certified licensure required.
- BLS-RQI required.

Pay
The posted compensation range is $27.25 - $42.23 per hour.
Schedule
Full-time position, 80 hours per pay period, Monday through Friday, 7 am - 7 pm, 4/10's flexible day off, some Saturday shifts.
Travel
No travel required.
