MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CERTIFIED)

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Certified Medical Assistant at The Arkansas Juvenile Assessment and Treatment Center (AJATC) in Bryant, Arkansas. AJATC is a secure residential program for at-risk male and female youth, located on 110 acres just outside of Little Rock, AR. Through trained programming for staff, AJATC promotes a normalized high school experience, offers a safe environment, and provides opportunities for positive change, as well as unlimited potential for achievement and growth for students and staff.

About the role

The Medical Assistant works directly on the Student Services team, primarily serving as an assistant to the entire Health Services Department. You will coordinate the flow of students to be seen by healthcare professionals within the program and schedule students for outside healthcare appointments. You will also collaborate with the Group Living department to monitor and supervise students waiting to be seen, ensure medical documentation is complete and filed within student medical charts, and document medical supply orders under the direction of the Health Services Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of students to be seen by healthcare professionals within the program.
• Schedule students for appointments with outside healthcare professionals.
• Monitor and supervise students waiting to be seen in conjunction with the Group Living department.
• Ensure medical documentation is complete and properly filed within student medical charts.
• Document medical supply orders under the direction of the Health Services Administrator.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification for Medical Assistant or Nurses Assistant is required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug test, physical, and TB test.
• Ability to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.
• Must meet requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including a valid Driver’s License.

Pay

$19 per hour; can increase with level of education and experience.

4 days a week, occasionally on the weekends; 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
