Medical Assistant (Certified)

The Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties in a medical practice to support healthcare staff and ensure smooth office operations. Responsibilities include: rooming patients, collecting medical histories, vital signs, and medication information; conducting phone communications; managing patient check-in/out; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations; assisting with clinical procedures such as catheterizations, sutures, and cast removal; documenting patient interactions and test results; providing patient education; administering medications; processing prescription refills; and supporting provider procedures.Maintain clinical equipment, manage supplies, and ensure accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EPIC).Assist with diabetes management, blood glucose monitoring, and external lab results. Qualifications include: valid certifications such as RMA, NRCMA, CMA, CCMA, or RMA from recognized organizations; BLS certification; high school diploma or GED. Skills required: strong communication, patient care, documentation proficiency, clinical procedures, and familiarity with medical software and equipment.
