Medical Assistant (Certified)

The Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Medical Assistant provides routine administrative and clinical support in a medical practice to assist healthcare staff and ensure smooth office operations. Responsibilities Include Rooming patients and collecting relevant health information Managing telephone communications and maintaining accurate patient records Performing administrative tasks such as check-in/out, scheduling, authorizations, and referrals Conducting clinical procedures like urine catheterizations, suturing, cast application, TB testing, and point-of-care diagnostics Educating patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care Administering medications, immunizations, PPD tests, and nebulizer treatments to patients aged 0-21 Assisting with medication refills, pharmacy communications, and documentation in the EMR Obtaining vital signs and assisting with in-office procedures including lesion removal and circumcisions Completing medication reconciliation and medical forms Qualifications Certification in one of several recognized medical assisting credentials BLS certification within 30 days of hire High school diploma or GED Key Skills Strong clinical and administrative skills Ability to perform clinical procedures and patient education Effective communication and documentation skills Competency with point-of-care testing and medical equipment This role supports healthcare delivery by combining patient care tasks with administrative duties, requiring certified skills and patient-focused service.
