Responsibilities

• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing and updating patient records before face-to-face or Telehealth appointments, ensuring all recent test results and correspondence are up-to-date.
• Maintain exam rooms by cleaning and stocking them between patient visits, adhering to infection control standards.
• Prepare patients for their visit and notify the physician or mid-level provider when they are ready to be seen.
• Conduct initial medical screenings by greeting patients, taking vital signs, and documenting basic medical history accurately.
• Assist physicians or mid-level providers during patient examinations.
• Ensure efficient use of time by restocking supplies, checking inventory, and keeping all areas clean and orderly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current, valid Certification of Medical Assistant.
• Current, valid CPR certification.
• Valid State Driver’s License preferred.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to take medical histories, understand instructions, and document information accurately with a high degree of diplomacy and tact.
• Beginner to intermediate computing and phone skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to various job duties and cross-train within other departments.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity.
• Knowledge of “Universal Precautions” and adherence to HIPAA standards.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or other languages is a plus.
