About the role
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a crucial role in providing patient care, supporting physicians and nursing personnel, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical environments. This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, current certification as a Medical Assistant, and a current BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Organizes the clinical environment and supports patient care activities
- Assists in identifying patient needs and communicating data to providers
- Delivers quality customer service and ensures adherence to policies and procedures
- Performs various medical assistant duties including diagnostic equipment operation, specimen collection, and patient preparation
- Completes quality control checks on medical equipment and coordinates patient care
- Trains in standard infection control practices and maintains confidentiality
- Travels to patient homes for supportive care services
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment
- Current BLS certification for healthcare providers
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proven ability to handle emergencies
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer literacy, including intermediate Excel skills
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Bilingual proficiency (preferred)

- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 35 lbs. with assistance
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Fine motor skills for operating equipment and machinery
- Logical reasoning for problem-solving
- Discrimination of shades of color for reading dipsticks

Pay and Schedule
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. Additional benefits include a drug-free workplace policy and compliance with minimum wage laws.
