Medical Assistant - Cardiovascular Medicine
About the role
Cleveland Clinic's Richard E. Jacobs Health Center brings world-class care close to home for residents in and around Avon, Ohio. This facility offers advanced specialty and primary care, an outpatient surgery center, an infusion suite for chemotherapy, a full-scale imaging center, and two pools for aquatic therapy. Our cardiologists diagnose and treat heart diseases, with complex cases referred to Cleveland Clinic's nationally ranked Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute.
Responsibilities
- Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests, and documenting patient care.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
- Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
- Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved medical assisting program OR military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1).
- Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (must obtain during new hire period if not already certified).
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assisting certification.
- Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- May require extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
- Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay
Pay range for new hires: $19.75 – $27.75 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
Schedule
Full-time role with a schedule of 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, including evening and Saturday rotation.
