Job Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers. The Medical Assistant provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers. The Medical Assistant is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA Regulations and ensures completion of all duties vital to business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers.
  • Ensures compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA Regulations.
  • Supports patient flow in a unit or department, including:
    • Patient registration
    • Patient scheduling
    • Patient billing
    • Pre-certification (collecting insurance information; receiving co-pays or bill payments)
    • Medical records retrieval, release, or collection
    • Data entry
  • Resolves routine problems and coordinates patient flow.
  • Initiates follow-up with appropriate staff as needed.
  • Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma/GED
  • No formal experience beyond education required. Six months to one-year experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting school.

Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Schedule

Full-Time – 40 hours/week, First Shift. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required!
