Medical Assistant- Cardiac Medication Management

Responsibilities
- Support the nursing team in collecting essential patient information, including chief complaint, medication list, allergies, vital signs, and medical history.
- Assist in obtaining and reviewing medical records for provider visits.
- Communicate any patient concerns or issues to the nursing staff or provider.
- Participate in patient care under the direction of the nursing team by following physician orders through the electronic medical record system.
- Schedule diagnostic tests, lab work, electrocardiograms, and facilitate patient discharge as directed.
Requirements
- Current certification from one of the following:
- CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) through American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- NRCMA (Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant) through the National Association for Health Professionals
- NCMA (National Certified Medical Assistant) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), clinical, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and reliability (e.g., attendance and punctuality)
- Ability to create and sustain meaningful patient experiences
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate effectively with patients and providers
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Certification as a Medical Assistant in good standing
- Knowledge and use of EHRs (Athena experience is a plus)
Pay
Starting pay at $19.93 per hour.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
