About the role

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients every day. Our Cancer Care team in Damariscotta is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you'll provide support to patients throughout their cancer journey while working alongside experienced providers and a collaborative care team committed to delivering exceptional, personalized care. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or
    • Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or
    • 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  • Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement).
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement.
  • A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  • Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.
