Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Collects and reviews patient histories, conducts routine laboratory procedures, and prepares specimens for laboratory transport.
- Follows up on test orders, communicates results to providers and patients, and educates patients on relevant materials.
- Maintains medical equipment and orders necessary clinical supplies.
- Enters and updates patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Safeguards compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
- Performs other tasks as directed.
Requirements
- Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six months of employment or proof of active license/certification.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), Paramedic, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of medical assistant experience preferred.

Schedule
The shift is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with days typically Monday through Friday. There are no weekend work requirements, nor are there any on-call responsibilities.
