About the Role

We are searching for a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with physical examinations and carry out nursing treatments and procedures according to documented orders. The role requires familiarity with departmental policies, community health, and social services, as well as the ability to maintain strong public and working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intake, including taking history, vital signs, symptoms, and conditions, and document them in the medical record.
• Administer patient immunizations following clinical protocols and provider’s instructions.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider.
• Maintain treatment rooms by checking equipment functionality and stocking supplies.
• Perform lab duties, including daily quality checks, specimen processing, result documentation, and provider notification of abnormal results.
• Clean and disinfect lab and equipment in accordance with infection control guidelines.
• Travel to other CentroMed sites as needed to carry out duties.
• Assist providers in specialized examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Manage inventory for the supply room and assist the LVN Nurse Supervisor with additional duties.
• Perform venipuncture as ordered by the provider.
• Adhere to infection control, hazardous materials, and safety policies as outlined in CentroMed manuals.
• Demonstrate competence in caring for all patients.
• Participate in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assisting Program.
• 1 year of experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Must meet attendance requirements.
• Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service, both externally and internally.

Pay

$17.50 per hour.
