About the role
Join the compassionate team at MaineHealth Behavioral Health in Farmington, where you'll play an important role in supporting individuals on their mental health journey. As a Medical Assistant, you'll work alongside behavioral health providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a welcoming outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Aid in rooming patients
- Obtain vital signs and health histories
- Care for coordination of care
- Manage patient communications
- Support medication refill requests
- Document in the electronic medical record
- Contribute to ensuring the clinic operates efficiently
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed
- Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting
- One year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required (exempt for some positions)
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date
- NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license required for positions in New Hampshire
- Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant

Pay
- Sign-on bonus available for Medical Assistants with 0-1 years of experience: $4,000 (full time)
- Sign-on bonus available for Medical Assistants with 1+ years of experience: $5,000 (full time)
