Job Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care under direction of provider, including but not limited to: vitals, allergy & medication reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives, virtual health, and language iTi.
- Provides indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education, including but not limited to: scheduling, work queues/worklists, check in/check out, referrals, in-basket, scanning, chart prep, non-clinical patient result callbacks, prior authorizations, transportation facilitation.
- Conducts point of care testing including quality control & documentation including but not limited to: EKG, A1C, urinalysis, hemoglobin, urine tox, INR, and HcG.
- Performs administrative duties and covers front desk based on business needs.
- Floors to other offices based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below
- In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered
- Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office is preferred
- EPIC EMR experience is preferred
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date
