About the Role
As a Medical Assistant in our Bariatric Clinic, you'll play an essential role in supporting patients throughout their weight loss journey. Working alongside our bariatric providers, you'll help deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring each visit is organized, efficient, and focused on helping patients achieve their health goals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for office visits, examinations, and minor procedures
- Obtain vital signs, weight, medical histories, and update electronic medical records
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by the provider
- Assist with medication administration, injections, and clinical procedures within scope of practice
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments
- Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans, questions, and ongoing care needs
- Support physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering exceptional bariatric care
- Provide compassionate customer service while encouraging and motivating patients throughout their healthcare journey
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy clinic
- A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
Pay
$17.50 - $26.24 per hour
Schedule
Monday-Friday, Full Time
