At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we seek individuals passionate about providing exceptional service and high-quality care. The Baker City Family Medicine Clinic is currently hiring a full-time Medical Assistant.
Position Summary & Highlights
The Medical Assistant will promote a positive patient experience in a supportive and team-oriented environment. They will assist with various tasks, including patient intake, vitals checks, and clerical duties. The clinic covers a range of specialties, including Family Medicine, Cardiology, Surgical Ophthalmology, Occupational Medicine, Endoscopy, and Telemedicine.
What You Will Do
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Perform vital signs checks (temperature, blood pressure, height/weight)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical area
- May perform phlebotomy, immunizations, and assist with procedures and injections
- May handle clerical functions such as appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, insurance form processing, and tracking for laboratory/diagnostic tests and new patient referrals
Work Schedule
40 hours per week, either Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday, between 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM

Medical Assistant Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- MA credentialing from one of the following organizations within 15 months of hire or transfer date: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network at hire
