Medical Assistant - Outpatient Clinic

About the role

The Medical Assistant position at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children supports the care provided to patients and their families at the Pediatric Specialty Center. This role involves performing a variety of patient care activities across different age groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake and registration
• Administer medications and treatments under supervision
• Collect specimens for laboratory tests
• Prepare examination rooms and equipment
• Take vital signs and record patient data accurately
• Communicate effectively with patients and families
• Support physicians and other healthcare providers

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), ABR-OE, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, CCMA, or Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card
• Ability to complete departmental competency assessment within the first six months of employment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Coding (preferred)
• Six months medical assistant experience (preferred)
