About the role
The Medical Assistant (MA) will provide nursing care to patients in the physician offices under the supervision of the clinic physician.
Responsibilities
- Perform EKGs, vital signs, including manual blood pressures;
- Assess the health status of patients;
- Collaborate with the physician and nursing staff to establish care procedures;
- Contribute to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions;
- Assist patients with activities of daily living;
- Document patient assessment;
- Communicate pertinent information regarding patient condition to other members of the health care team;
- Provide information to patient/family regarding disease process or diagnostic procedures.
Requirements
- A Louisiana MA license is a requirement for this position;
- Previous cardiac experience is preferred.
