About the role

The Clinic Medical Assistant assists in providing healthcare to patients in the Vivent Health Medical Clinic. As a key member of the medical staff, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality care while contributing to the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients, documenting vital signs, administering vaccinations, updating health maintenance, performing ECGs, and other routine clinic functions.
• Provide phlebotomy services as needed.
• Process and document patient specialty care referrals.
• Abstract outside laboratory results into the electronic medical record.
• Document as required in the medical record.
• Order routine medical supplies.
• Monitor and distribute faxes.
• Stock and maintain exam rooms.
• Ensure all clinic medical equipment is kept in good working order, monitor expiration dates, and perform routine control checks.
• Participate in continuous Quality Improvement activities.
• Adhere to all agency policies, including Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, and Standards of Conduct.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Medical Director.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Certified Medical Assistant.
• Basic Life Saving certification.
• One year or greater experience in phlebotomy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of universal precautions.
• Effective and practical organizational skills.
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to the HIV/AIDS patient population, and/or an eagerness to learn about this community.
• Exemplary customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to do detail-oriented work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with a diverse population.
• Working knowledge of Spanish language (bilingual) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• HIV experience in a not-for-profit environment.

Pay

$24.00/hourly (depending on experience). The final salary will be determined based on factors such as market data, internal equity, candidate experience, and qualifications.
