Job Summary

Is perceived by patients and other contacts (physicians, insurance companies, office staff) as dependable and responsive to patient needs. Ability to listen effectively and maintain patient confidence and trust. Assists doctors with procedures, prep patients or injections, anticipates doctors' needs, multi-tasks, enters EPIC orders for insurance authorizations, proficient in EPIC tasks, properly intakes patients, reviews charts, works with scheduling, maintains sterile instruments, cleans and restocks rooms, acts as liaison, keeps clinic smooth, notifies of delays, meets with counterparts, notifies EPIC of ownership disclosures.

  • Enters EPIC orders for insurance authorizations
  • Proficient in EPIC tasks: orders, changing providers, making/appending appointments, checking patients out, recording administered injections using the MAR, use of quick disclosure
  • Properly intakes patients: marking as reviewed, associated documentation in the system for vital signs, medications, updating pharmacy, history to include smoking status
  • Reviews patient charts for completion before session
  • Reviews MD schedule in advance of patient day to determine patient flow or overbooking issues
  • Works closely with secretarial counterpart to address chart/scheduling issues
  • Maintains sterile instruments and proper use of autoclave
  • Cleans and restocks patient rooms
  • Able to act as liaison between patients, physicians, office staff, and outside contacts
  • Keeps things running smoothly during clinic sessions
  • Routinely notifies patients of MD/APP delays
  • Routinely notifies Front Desk staff of MD/APP delays
  • Meets regularly with secretarial counterparts to review any issues that need to be addressed
  • Notifies patients and updates EPIC pertaining to the Disclosure of Ownership of the MR/CT equipment
  • Willingly performs other assignments and duties as assigned

Requirements

Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Qualifications

Work Days: M-F 8 am - 5pm (may change based on Provider assignment)

Pay

G3: $16.56 - $27.90
