Medical Assistant

Job Summary

Works under the direction of Licensed Healthcare Professionals. May assist with scheduling appointments, data entry, and preparation of vaccines for vaccinations to the community.

Work Experience

• One year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant required; must obtain within 6 months of being in the position.
• Current BLS certification required.

Education and Training

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course required.

Skills

• Highly effective communication skills.
• Proficiency and ability to type.
• Knows vaccine requirements for patients.
• Knowledge of the patient flow process, applicable per Clinic.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to document EMR.
