This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant who enjoys working at the top of their training and supporting providers in exams, procedures, minor surgery, patient care, and clinical operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during exams, sterile field set-up, procedures, and surgical cases
- Prepares/administers medications and injections per policy (5 Rights, expiry verification) and may process refill requests under provider direction
- Prepare patients for treatment, including histories and consent documentation
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, injections, and suture removals
- Prepare and stock exam rooms
- Perform specimen handling and collection
- Accurately document care, medications, test results, and procedures
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, and testing
- Maintain medical equipment and supplies; responds to in-clinic emergencies per protocol and documents per policy
- Uphold HIPAA, safety standards, and quality care protocols
- Performs proper infection control and biohazard waste disposal; supports CLIA-waived testing procedures as trained
This position combines hands-on patient care, procedural support, and clinical coordination. You will be performing clinical duties under the delegation and supervision of a licensed provider and in accordance with practice policy and applicable regulations.
