Medical Assistant

Clinical Functions

• Captures and records vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight).
• Prepares patient injection sites for physicians.
• Affixes and removes durable medical equipment as directed by physicians.
• Provides patient education as directed by physicians.

Clerical Functions

• Data entry of new patient information into electronic medical records (EMR) file.
• Scanning of charts into EMR system.

Requirements:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience as a medical assistant.
• Clinical knowledge in a medical specialization.
• Familiarity with billing and scheduling software used in automated health care systems or similar billing and scheduling software.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including typing at a speed of 45+ words per minute.
• The ability to multi-task and maintain strong organizational skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and external customers at all times.
