Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient exams, procedures, and rheumatology-specific treatments
- Room patients, record vital signs, and document medical histories in the EHR system
- Prepare and administer injections and medications as directed by the provider
- Cook up lab orders, diagnostic testing, and prior authorizations
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient and timely clinic operations
- Communicate with patients regarding follow-up care, test results, and appointment scheduling
- Maintain clean, stocked, and properly sanitized exam rooms
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred
- Previous clinical or medical office experience, preferably in a specialty practice
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong phlebotomy and injection administration skills
- Excellent communication and patient-facing interpersonal skills
- Able to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical setting
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and a reliable team player
