Position Summary
The Medical Assistant will support providers and clinical staff by delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating clinical activities, and ensuring efficient daily clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Oversee and participate in the day-to-day clinical care of patients.
- Perform patient intake activities including: Recording vital signs, Obtaining patient medical history, Reviewing medications and allergies, Coordinate patient care according to physician direction, company policies, and clinical protocols.
- Perform clinical procedures, including: Injections, Ear lavages, Other routine clinical procedures within scope of practice.
- Assist providers during invasive procedures and minor surgical procedures.
- Maintain exam room readiness and cleanliness.
- Documentation & Administrative Support
- Maintain clinical logs, including: Exam room maintenance logs, Temperature logs, Other required clinic compliance records.
- Submit electronic referrals for specialty services, diagnostic testing, and additional patient care needs.
- Enroll patients in the patient portal program and respond to electronic patient messages as appropriate.
- Process medication refill requests according to established protocols.
- Facilitate prior authorizations and coordinate with insurance providers when necessary.
- Manage inbound and outbound patient phone calls.
- Schedule patient appointments as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Certification
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program/School, OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Certifications Required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant or relevant clinical experience
