Responsibilities

• Assist in developing guidelines and training curriculums for medical assistants
• Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture
• Administer IM/PO medications as ordered by provider
• Conduct minor procedures (minor wound care, suture and staple removal, etc.)
• Assist with in-room diagnostic testing (X-Ray, US, etc.)
• Take and record vitals
• Update patient medical history and chief complaints
• Review recent changes to mental, social, and physical health
• Perform gap closure tasks (foot exam, DRE, etc.)
• Review provider orders and referrals with patient
• Review normal/stable labs or diagnostic tests with patient and forward concerns to provider
• Provide remote patient monitoring support by reinforcing understanding and adherence to care plan
• Respond to patient calls/messages same day
• Collaborate with Medical Assistants, Transitions of Care Team, Chronic Care Team, and other multidisciplinary care team members for continuity of care
• Perform other duties as assigned by Center Director and Medical provider

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Required Certification in Medical Assisting from AAMA, CCMA or any other nationally recognized body
• Active ACLS or BLS certification (or willing to obtain within 7 days of start)
• Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), knowledgeable of medical terminology
• Previous experience in a specific medical field preferred
