About the role
STRIDE Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center with 13 clinics in the Denver Metro area, offering comprehensive services including primary care, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, health education, and outreach.
Responsibilities
- Assists nurses, providers, and care navigators in supporting patient-care related functions.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; appropriately responding to emergency codes; communicating safety issues/concerns timely and appropriately.
- Maintains patient care and non-patient care records in a confidential, accurate, and timely manner.
- Prepares paperwork for provider signature by completing as much information as possible before submitting to provider.
- Escalates patient/customer concerns to professional/licensed staff when appropriate.
- Performs opening and closing lab procedures including quality control, autoclaving, and packaging of instruments.
- Registers, checks-in, and checks-out patients for all services.
- Collections and uploads all necessary documentation and consents.
- Promptly and accurately updates patient records including financial and demographic information.
- Collects copayment and account balances at time of service.
- Completes annual competency assessment.
- Adheres to professional standards, policies/procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, accreditation standards.
- Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active BLS Certified.
- Medical Assistant certificate of completion (MA) from an accredited program.
- Certified MA Certification (CCMA, CMA, RMA) is preferred, but not required.
- Additional language proficiency (bilingual) is highly preferred.
- 1 year back-office experience or other proven proficiency preferred.

- Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers, and external contacts.
- Ability to work independently in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to respond to the needs and concerns of STRIDE’s diverse patient population.
- Ability to travel to other clinics for coverage, as needed.
- Excellent Customer Service skills including ability to defuse upset customers.
- Proficiency in a variety of software including but not limited to the internet, Microsoft 365 applications, and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Working Environment and Physical Activities
Office environment within a clinical setting. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse and keyboard. Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making.
Schedule
4x10s (Mon, Wed, Thu & Fri) or 5x8s (Mon-Fri)
Pay Information
A competitive hourly range of $21.59 - $28.19 for Non-Certified Medical Assistants and $22.59 - $28.19 for Certified Medical Assistants, depending on your experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
