Vital Information

Education: Certificate - Preferred
Experience: 1 Year Physicians practice or ambulatory care setting - Required
Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - Preferred

Core Job Functions

• Vital signs are taken on each patient, on each visit and input into eClinical Works.
• Verifies and updates patients clinical record on each visit.
• Identifies patient education needs and may assist in patient teaching as to appropriate health maintenance and management of illness.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
• Follows policies and procedures for routine office procedures, tests, administration of medications and assisting providers up to and including IV therapy.
• Recognizes and anticipates urgent and emergent patient situations and responds appropriately.
• Performs pre-certification tasks when needed prior to services being rendered.
• Accurately updates and documents the referral in eClinical Works to include closing referral.
