Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
- Collections detailed and accurate patient history.
- Prepares and maintains exam rooms with necessary instruments, equipment and supplies.
- Follows up with patient on physician's current patient care notes or instructions.
- Provides general assistance, education and information to patient questions.
- Aids in setting up and performing medical procedures under the direction of physician or nurse manager.
- Maintains DME supplies.
- Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Prepares, cleans and stocks examination rooms.
- Affirms surfaces are clear and puts away any articles that were left out and replenishes missing stock in drawers and cabinets.
- Unpacks new supply deliveries and stores away items as directed.
- Assists members of clinical support staff and physicians with all duties as necessary and appropriate.
- Identifies OSHA issues and communicates for correction.
- Fulfills HIPAA regulations as instructed.
- Fulfills policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle high stress, busy work environment.
- Knowledge of Word & Outlook.
- Orthopedic and/or casting experience preferred.
- Pleasant, professional, and articulate phone skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
