Responsibilities
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly
- Checking patients in/out, monitoring patient flow
- Performing urine drug screens, taking vitals, assisting with patient evaluations
- Calling in patient medication as directed by Physician
- Inputting accurate patient information into electronic health record
- Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies
- Performing daily financial summary and balance of payments received
- Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits
- Reviewing the Prescription Monitoring Database
- Providing education and resource information regarding medication
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma required; Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred
- Experience: 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role)
- Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
- Experience with injections preferred
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
