About the role

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team in Williamsburg, KY. The position supports the mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships” in an integrated team providing counseling, case management, and medically assisted treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling patient appointments.
  • Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
  • Checking patients in/out, monitoring patient flow.
  • Performing urine drug screens, taking vitals, assisting with patient evaluations.
  • Calling in patient medications as directed by the physician.
  • Inputting accurate patient information into the electronic health record.
  • Sending prior authorizations to insurance companies.
  • Preparing daily financial summaries and balancing payment received.
  • Responsible for cash collection and verifying benefits.
  • Reviewing the Prescription Monitoring Database.
  • Providing education and resource information regarding medication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred.
  • 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role).
  • Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred.
  • Experience with injections preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred.
  • 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role).

  • Experience with injections preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
