Medical Assistant

About the role

To provide clinical support services to Nursing Services at Spectrum Health & Human Services, partnering with adults, children, and families as they recover from behavioral, emotional, mental health, and/or substance-related disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient support, care, attention, and assistance during office visits.
• Coordinate daily office activities, greet individuals, and check them in for appointments.
• Gather data and document information in EMR; report concerns to nursing leadership.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Draw blood as needed, when fully trained.
• Assist with managing medline calls, obtain necessary information for nursing staff to address individual needs.
• Maintain contact with individuals to ensure completion of medline requests.
• Serve as a central reference point for medline issues, providing updates and status changes.
• Obtain prior authorizations and PMP documentation as needed for medication review.
• Look up HealtheLink documents as requested.
• Perform clinical activities as assigned.
• Handle data entry, spreadsheets, faxing, scanning, and information flow tasks.
• Run reports as requested by Nursing leadership.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Applicable Certification/Degree in Medical Assisting preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record and a personal vehicle for job requirements.

Pay

$17.46/hr - $22.26/hr
