About the role

The role of Medical Assistant at Shady Grove Fertility in Westshore, Florida involves performing a high volume of phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions, setting up and maintaining supplies for blood drawing stations, documenting patient care services, utilizing the computer for entering labs and printing labels, ensuring orders for lab work are in place, checking patients in/out, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and collecting payments. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will set up rooms for procedures, take vital signs, obtain patient height and weight, assist with procedures as needed, clean and stock rooms and care for equipment according to manufacturer and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a high volume of phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions
  • Set up, stock, and maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
  • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs, electronic medical records, and appropriate outside laboratory forms
  • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels, ensure orders for lab work are in place
  • Check patients in/out, answer phones, schedule appointments, and collect payments
  • Set up rooms for procedures, take vital signs, obtain patient height and weight, assist with procedures as needed, clean and stock rooms and care for equipment according to manufacturer and OSHA guidelines

Requirements

  • Strong phlebotomy skills required
  • High school diploma
  • Completion of a certified or formal medical training program preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule

Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with weekend and holiday rotations
