About the role
We are a large, privately owned, primary care practice located on the campus of St. Vincent's in Birmingham.
Responsibilities
- Obtaining vital sign measurements using manual and automatic devices.
- Recording patient complaints, history, and active medication list into the EMR.
- Adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding protected health information (PHI).
- Administering injections as directed by the physician.
- Performing EKGs and diabetic retinal exams.
- Sterilizing equipment and exam rooms.
- Relaying results and instructions from the physician to a patient, as well as documenting those messages in the patient’s medical record.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- CCMA certification is preferred, but not required.
- Either CCMA certification or experience in the medical field is required.
