About the role

Since 1970, Salud has been committed to providing a Medical Home to patients, where medical, dental, behavioral health services, and clinical pharmacists work together and coordinate efforts in a team-based system of care. We strive to improve the quality of our patient's lives who would otherwise have limited access to health care. We serve all individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

Responsibilities

  • Treat patients with the utmost respect and concern for their physical, emotional, and mental well-being
  • Instill a fun and vibrant atmosphere bringing smiles to all who enter our doors
  • Welcome patients as the first step in treatment prior to seeing the Doctor, NP, or PA
  • Determine the nature of the patient’s visit and obtain vitals
  • Thorough and concise chart documentation to provide clear necessary communication
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment for both patients and staff

Requirements

  • The ability to work with people from all walks of life and to meet them in their place of need
  • A current Medical Assistant Certificate
  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred

Qualifications

  • The ability to work with people from all walks of life and to meet them in their place of need
  • A Medical Assistant not certified/registered upon hire is required to complete the Medical Assistant certification/registration testing within 3 months of hire. If an employee does not pass, they will be given an additional 3 months to retake the test.
  • All Medical Assistants must be certified within 6 months of hire, and certification must be maintained throughout employment.
  • A CNA certification is NOT equivalent to a Medical Assistant certification and cannot be accepted for this position.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program, a minimum of 6 months in length, preferred

  • $21 to $28.50 per hr

Schedule
