Job Summary
The position performs administrative and certain clinical duties. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed.
Essential Functions/Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients, collect and document information.
- Record patients’ medical history, vital statistics and other related information.
- Schedule a variety of appointments and keep calendar(s) up to date.
- Maintain and prepare patient charts and records.
- Ensure all forms and documents are completed and forwarded as needed.
- Prepare rooms for examination including setting up instruments and materials.
- Clean and sanitize rooms and equipment.
- Maintain supplies and supply rooms by ordering inventory and organizing.
- Perform general office duties such as answering phones, making copies, completing forms, etc.
- Populate population health outreach for assigned providers’ patient panels.
- Perform point of care testing as needed.
- Answer patient questions and refer when needed.
- Recognize and educate staff that managing patient care is a team effort that involves clinical and nonclinical staff (e.g., physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, educators, front desk staff, schedulers, etc.) interacting with patients to achieve stated objectives.

Education And Experience
- Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant certification or 1 year of patient care experience, Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
