About the role
River Family Health Center is seeking a Medical Assistant with outpatient experience to work in their outpatient clinic.
Responsibilities
- Affords care to patients at River Family Health Center for appointments.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills with patients, family members, significant others and other members of the health care team.
- Performs clinical duties under the supervision of the Nurse Manager of Outpatient Services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year outpatient clinic experience as Medical Assistant (or equivalent), at least two years preferred.
- Working knowledge of EMR systems, preferably ECW and/or Meditech.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft platforms: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying and speaking.
- Occasional reaching, bending and stooping.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed.
- Might need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed.
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine and phone.
