Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with cardiovascular exams, stress tests, EKGs, Holter monitor placements, and pacemaker checks.
• Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
• Review and document patient history, medications, and symptoms accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Administer medications and injections under physician direction.
• Perform phlebotomy and process laboratory specimens.
• Provide patient education on procedures, medications, and follow-up care related to cardiology services.
• Ensure proper cleaning, stocking, and sterilization of exam rooms and medical instruments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Able to maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other applicable laws and regulations
