Responsibilities
- Sign on available for qualified candidates
- Performs medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations
- MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy
- Prepares patient for rooming and exam
- Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
- Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
- Collections and prepares laboratory specimens
- Provides basic education to patients
- Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
- Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
- BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
- Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (i.e. BLS)
