Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current medical assistant certificate or emergency medical technician certificate from an accredited teaching school and/or provide transcripts
- Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state employed
- Ability to administer medications
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certification
Responsibilities
- Works as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly
- Observe urine samples for urine drug screens, test onsite and package for laboratory confirmation testing
- Obtain vital signs and report findings to nurses when needed
- Obtain blood samples for standard blood testing onsite and package for the laboratory
- Communicate all relevant information to the leadership team regarding patients and the facility
- Make appointments for patients to see physicians, counselors, and case managers, and provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care
- May be responsible for cash collection and daily balancing
- May be responsible for managing accounts receivable/accounts payable/deposits
- Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbooks, checking in visitors, etc.
- May be responsible for coordinating appointments for patients
- May be responsible for running the PDMP for all patients as well as recording patient information at intake in the Central Registry for that State
- Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the patients in the EHR as well as in any lab required software programs
- May be responsible for dropping off lab work at a UPS drop off location if the driver does not come in to pick up that day
- May be responsible for dropping deposits off at the local bank
- Assists with Purchasing and ordering of medical supplies
- Assists in education with pregnant patients about prenatal care and assists primary counselor in coordinating outside services as needed
- Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required
- Other duties as assigned
