About the Role
Assists Physicians with all patient procedures, including giving injections, applying dressings and splints, collecting specimens, running lab tests, performing EKGs, and drug screen collection. Performs clerical duties as assigned. May float to other PPG clinics during high patient volume or to assist with coverage.
Responsibilities
- Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
- Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, and service offerings, tailoring documentation to expected readers/users.
- Treats patients and families with compassion and implements a plan of care based on patient needs.
- Monitors and documents patient response to care, adapting communication style and interventions as needed.
- Establishes rapport with clients, respecting confidentiality, privacy, and cultural needs.
- Manages difficult or emotional patient situations effectively.
- Develops expected outcomes for continuity of care, involving patient/family and other disciplines.
- Modifies expected outcomes based on changes in patient assessment and evaluates the plan in relation to patient responses.
- Demonstrates technical skill in using and maintaining equipment appropriate for the role, troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Uses technology to increase productivity and adapts to new technology.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required).
- 1 year of clinical work experience (Required). Phoebe Putney Health System clinical rotation and/or medical assistant internship experience may substitute for work experience.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred).
