Medical Assistant
About the role
As a Medical Assistant (MA) with Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin, you will be responsible for providing physical support services with a variety of both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operation of our healthcare facility. The Medical Assistant will coordinate office activities such as maintaining patient recordings and medical documentation, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and more. This position will cover our Guadalupe and Lakeway locations.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Responsibilities
- Greets and chaperones patients during medical part of visit
- Coordinates daily office activities
- Prepares exam rooms for clinical procedures and assists practitioners with patient care
- Maintains medical documentation
- Schedules care, treatment, and diagnostic tests per physician
- Processes prescription requests and referrals
- Manages telephone systems, schedules patient appointments, performs data entry, and other administrative duties as assigned
- Obtains and records vital signs, prepares medications under the supervision of physician, and other clinical duties as assigned
