About the role

The Medical Assistant at Lone Tree Pediatrics plays a vital role in delivering high-quality healthcare services to pediatric patients and their families. This position is responsible for supporting physicians and nursing staff by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare pediatric patients and their families for examinations, ensuring a comfortable and reassuring environment.
  • Record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during patient examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and support.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
  • Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and coordinating follow-up care instructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment to comply with health and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to facilitate clear understanding of care plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • Some Medical Assistant experience required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent program (LPN, RN, EMT, C.N.A).
  • Two years of hands-on Medical Assistant work experience can be accepted in lieu of educational requirements but must in Family Medicine or Pediatrics.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience working in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly pediatric-focused software.
  • Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric growth and development milestones.
  • Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to better serve diverse patient populations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
