Medical Assistant

About the role

Gastroenterology Health Partners is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. Located at 1941 Bishop Lane, Louisville, KY, with occasional travel to the satellite location in Shepardsville, KY.

Responsibilities

• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients.
• Absorb and assist the physician during office visits.
• Assist the physician in emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by the physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by the physician.
• Answer patient questions.
• Notify patients of test results.
• Absorb and assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions, and appointments as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred.
• BLS certified required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required.
• Must be able to travel to satellite locations.

• Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.

• Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
